The International Airport of Carrasco (Montevideo) is served by the main commercial airlines of the world, with regional flights from Buenos Aires, Porto Alegre, San Pablo, Rio de Janeiro, Asunci√≥n and Santiago de Chile, in addition to international direct flights from the United States and Europe.
New regional destinations have been established recently connecting the International Airport of Carrasco with Cordoba, Mendoza and Curitiba.
Uruguay also has international airports in Punta del Este (Maldonado) and in Colonia.
There are daily connections by boat and ferries between Buenos Aires and Colonia or Montevideo, which also transport vehicles. Numerous yachting ports also allow the access of private crafts.
A very extensive road network connects the cities of the Mercosur with the main Uruguayan tourist destinations. The journeys have been shortened thanks to the newinternational bridges on the Uruguay River, such as: General San Mart√≠n Bridge (Port Unzu√© - Fray Bentos), the International General Artigas Bridge (Col√≥n - Paysand√ļ), the international Rosario - Victoria Bridge - which reduces the journey from Rosario to the destinations in Uruguay by 200km, as well as the Salto Grande Dam (Concordia ‚Äď Salto), andas¬†the international Bridge of the Concordia on the Cuareim River (Quara√≠ - Artigas) in the north of Uruguay.
